About Smart Working This role is for a substantial, fast-growing and well-respected UK organisation that has hired several Smart Working professionals before. Once you pass the interview process with Smart Working, you will be introduced to the company, and if selected, you will work directly with them as part of their team. About the Role As a Senior SEO Manager with Social Media Experience, you will take ownership of the overall SEO strategy, with a focus on increasing organic visibility, qualified traffic and ultimately leads and revenue. This is a long-term role requiring 5+ years of relevant experience. The role combines SEO strategy, technical SEO, content marketing, search analysis, analytics, tracking and digital marketing automation. You will also use Claude and other AI tools extensively to improve productivity and automate repetitive SEO and marketing activities. The working style is balanced between independence and collaboration and between big-picture thinking and attention to detail. The role suits someone highly flexible and adaptive, primarily a creative problem-solver, and comfortable working in a strongly fast-paced environment.
Develop and execute the overall SEO strategy.
Own technical SEO and continuously identify and resolve issues affecting organic visibility.
Conduct keyword research, search-intent analysis and competitor research.
Improve organic rankings, qualified organic traffic and ultimately leads/revenue.
Develop and execute an SEO-focused content strategy.
Identify content gaps and opportunities and improve existing content.
Manage and improve Google Business Profile and local search visibility where relevant.
Monitor Google rankings, Google Search Console, GA4 and other SEO KPIs.
Ensure analytics and tracking are correctly configured through GA4 and Google Tag Manager (GTM).
Build useful reporting and dashboards focused on meaningful business outcomes.
Use Claude and other AI tools extensively to improve productivity and automate repetitive SEO/marketing tasks.
Manage tracking, A/B testing and email automation.
Build WhatsApp agents and web agents.
Drive YouTube content promotion as an essential part of the role.
5+ years of experience in content marketing and SEO content strategy.
5+ years of experience driving Google Search and organic ranking growth.
5+ years of experience with Google Analytics/GA4 and Google Tag Manager (GTM).
5+ years of experience in keyword research and competitor analysis.
4+ years of experience with React and Next.js.
5+ years of overall experience, at Senior level.
YouTube content promotion experience is essential.
Ability to work in a balanced independent and collaborative manner.
Ability to balance big-picture thinking with attention to detail.
A strongly flexible and adaptive working style.
A primarily creative problem-solving approach.
Ability to operate effectively in a strongly fast-paced environment.
