Full job description

The role sits in CERN's Linear and Non-Linear Optics Section and Optics Measurement and Correction team. Responsibilities include maintaining the core OMC framework, improving optics measurement and correction workflows, updating accelerator-model and correction algorithms, exploring automation, building GUIs and analysis tools for the CERN Control Centre, and contributing to accelerator optics measurements.

Requirements & qualifications

Candidates should have a background in programming and software design with Python, collaborative version-control workflows and GUI development. Particle-accelerator physics knowledge is advantageous. CERN requires a master's degree with 2–6 years of professional experience since graduation, or a PhD with no more than three years of professional experience since graduation; bachelor-only applicants are not eligible. CERN Member or Associate Member nationality rules apply.
