​The GG DevOps SWE is in an extremely customer facing role leading multi faceted mission critical system development, deployment and evolution. The successful candidate will be focusing on the development, deployment, and administration of complex systems using C++ or Python, Kubernetes, and GPU technologies. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our satellite communication systems, from development to deployment, and will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure software meets user requirements.

Due to federal contract requirements, United States Citizenship and position appropriate security clearance is required. (e.g. Active TS/SCI security clearance with agency appropriate polygraph).

Analyze user requirements to derive software designs for new applications or modifications to existing software, ensuring the addition of new features and capabilities aligns with project goals.

Write high-quality, maintainable C++ code for satellite communication applications, adhering to best practices and coding standards.

Identify, debug, and correct defects in existing software, utilizing effective troubleshooting techniques to resolve issues efficiently.

Design and implement database or data repository interfaces and queries to support the application’s data management needs.

Design and implement complex algorithms that adhere to strict timing, system resource, and interface constraints, ensuring high performance and reliability.

Integrate automated testing as part of the development lifecycle, implementing unit tests and other testing methodologies to ensure software quality.

Work closely with cross-functional teams, including system architects, QA engineers, and project managers, to ensure software meets user requirements and is delivered on schedule.

Maintain comprehensive documentation for software designs, processes, and interfaces to facilitate knowledge sharing and project continuity.

TS/SCI with agency appropriate poly

Twenty (20) years experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.

Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree

Kubernetes cluster design, deployment, and lifecycle management

Specifically Rancher, RKE2 implementation

Controle plane component configuration and troubleshooting

Worker node management, configuration, and lifecycle automation

Workload management (scheduling, affinity, resources, scaling)

High availability cluster configuration

Cluster monitoring

Cluster networking

Cluster storage (storage classes, PVC, PC) and integration with external storage systems

Kubernetes security concepts and implementation (RBAC, service accounts, secrets, certificate management, policy engines)

Helm Familiarity

CKA certification is a plus

Kubernetes application development/deployment principles

CNCF projects/tools

Devops principles

GitOps/Builds/Pipelines

Networking experience (Switching, routing, VLANs)

Advanced Linux Experience (RHEL/Rocky/EL9)

Operating system configuration and troubleshooting

Service management

Hardening

PXE boot and automated OS deployment

Ansible experience

Playbook design

Role development

Ansible collection creation and management

Development and Scripting

Python familiarity

Bash scripting experience

Go (desired)

YAML and JSON manipulation

Git workflows

Knowledge/experience with software unit testing
