Full job description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Software Engineer (Enterprise Experience, Backend) based in Germany. This role is focused on building the backend capabilities that help large organizations operate complex developer infrastructure confidently and reliably. You’ll join a cross-functional engineering team responsible for the administrator and operator experience, from scalability and upgrades to observability, security, and auditability. The position combines hands-on Go development with database engineering, distributed systems, performance optimization, and production support. You’ll own features end to end, contributing from technical design through implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing operation. You’ll work closely with product, design, platform, and QA colleagues to solve real-world enterprise challenges. It’s an opportunity to contribute to a modern cloud-native platform while tackling technically demanding problems at meaningful scale.
Build and ship backend features end to end, contributing to technical design, implementation, testing, production rollout, and ongoing improvement. Design and implement database migrations using established patterns for schema compatibility, reliability, and safe upgrades. Develop observability, reporting, and audit capabilities that give administrators clear visibility into their deployments and system activity. Build and maintain security-focused backend features in accordance with established enterprise security practices. Investigate and resolve scalability and performance bottlenecks under production-like workloads, including database access patterns and concurrency within backend services. Troubleshoot and resolve backend issues reported by platform operators and enterprise administrators. Document technical solutions and implementation decisions clearly so that code and features remain maintainable for reviewers and future engineers. Participate actively in code reviews and RFC-style technical design discussions. Contribute to the engineering on-call rotation and help maintain reliable production systems. Collaborate with backend, platform, QA, product, and design teams to deliver a strong operator experience. Continuously improve the reliability, scalability, security, and operational usability of the platform. Requirements 2+ years of professional software engineering experience. Professional experience developing and shipping production software with Go. Solid understanding of Go's concurrency model, including goroutines, channels, and the sync package. Comfortable working with SQL, relational databases, schema changes, and database migrations. Strong debugging and analytical skills, with persistence in investigating complex technical problems and good judgment about when to escalate. Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to surface blockers, risks, and uncertainty early. Self-motivated and comfortable taking ownership of technically challenging work. Experience with observability, audit, or security capabilities in an enterprise software environment is an advantage. Experience investigating performance under real-world or production-like workloads, including race conditions, is a plus. Familiarity with major cloud providers, Kubernetes, and container orchestration is desirable. Experience building or operating distributed systems at meaningful scale is beneficial. Curiosity about modern developer tooling and emerging approaches to software development. Familiarity with technologies such as PostgreSQL, gRPC, Prometheus, Grafana, and GitHub Actions is an advantage. Benefits Opportunity to work on a modern cloud-native platform serving enterprise customers. Hands-on exposure to Go, PostgreSQL, Kubernetes, gRPC, observability tooling, and distributed systems. Ownership of backend features throughout the full software development lifecycle. Collaborative environment with backend, platform, QA, product, and design professionals. Opportunity to solve challenging problems involving scalability, security, reliability, and enterprise infrastructure. Participation in technical design discussions, code reviews, and production operations. Exposure to emerging developer tooling and AI-enabled development workflows. Transparent and structured interview process designed to be completed within approximately two to four weeks, subject to scheduling. Opportunity to contribute to a product focused on secure, governed, and scalable developer infrastructure.
