Build modern SaaS products that support stronger communities At Objective, we create software that makes a difference. Our solutions help governments deliver better services and support stronger communities across Australia, New Zealand and the United Kingdom. We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join our Planning & Building Solutions team and contribute to the ongoing evolution of our platform into a modern, AWS-hosted SaaS solution. This is an opportunity to work across the full technology stack, developing new product features, modernising legacy components and solving complex technical challenges. You’ll join a collaborative, cross-functional team where quality, curiosity and continuous improvement are valued. Reporting to the Development Manager, this is an individual contributor role with no people management responsibilities.
As a Software Engineer, you’ll design, develop and deliver scalable, maintainable software that provides a reliable experience for our customers.
Design, develop and test new product features.
Build and maintain scalable systems, APIs and web applications.
Refactor legacy code to improve performance and maintainability.
Troubleshoot product and customer issues.
Write clean, reliable and well-tested code.
Participate in code reviews and contribute to engineering best practices.
Collaborate with developers, testers, product owners and technical writers.
Help improve our development, testing and delivery processes.
You’ll bring:
At least three years’ experience in full-stack software development.
Strong experience with Typescript.
Experience with React, Angular or other modern JavaScript framework.
Experience with SQL Server, relational databases and RESTful APIs.
Exposure to AWS or another cloud platform.
Experience with Git, CI/CD and automated testing.
A practical understanding of scalable and maintainable software design.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
Experience with SaaS products, NoSQL databases, Docker or Kubernetes would be an advantage.
