Job Summary

Fable Security is tackling the most critical challenge in cybersecurity: human errors. Human error is the #1 cause of security breaches, yet employees lack effective ways to learn what they need to stay secure. Fable is here to change that.

Fable's mission is to prevent cyber attacks by harnessing AI to transform human behavior and improve human defenses. We use the best practices from GenAI and behavioral systems to automatically identify your employees at risk, curate hyper-personalized Gen-AI video briefings, and deploy at the most relevant time, enabling employees to make the best security choices everywhere they work.

As a software engineer intern, you will work hand-in-hand with our team to ship features to our customers on a fast, weekly cadence. You will build full-stack products, backend services, or data pipelines to integrate with our customers' datasets, enable data scientists to assess employee risks, and build systems to generate gen-AI videos at scale.

Job Responsibilities

Projects can include:

  • Design, implement, and ship end-to-end features for our gen-AI security training platform

  • Analyze security data and implement data pipelines to improve our employee behavioral profile system

  • Improve gen-AI video generation system features and scale.

  • Iterating on customer feedback to improve our product.

You are expected to:

  • Write organized and well-tested Python code

  • Work with our founders and mentor engineers to understand product requirements and design systems

  • Validate your features end-to-end in a production environment

  • Understand and debug our backend database schemas, data pipelines, etc.

As an intern at an early-stage company, you'll be doing the same work as our full-time engineers and be responsible for shipping real projects to production.

Required Skills

  • 2+ internships working in a Python backend environment

  • Takes pride in writing well-factored and organized code.

  • Solid understanding of backend API development.

  • Working towards a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering.

  • Have shipped projects to production in past intenrships.

  • Nice-to-have: Experience writing data pipelines and working in a notebook data science environment

  • Nice-to-have: Experience designing DB schemas and backend for end-to-end applications

  • Nice-to-have: React and JS web app experience implementation bar

  • Nice-to-have: knowledge of modern web app practices and components -- REST, GraphQL, relational DB, MVC, ORM framework fundamentals.

  • Nice-to-have: Experience working in AWS environment
