This is a senior DevOps and cloud engineering role focused on advancing and operating a large-scale AWS environment. You will help mature DevOps practices, strengthen automation, and improve the integration between infrastructure and application delivery. The role combines hands-on technical engineering with architecture, troubleshooting, innovation, and technical mentorship. You will work across complex cloud environments involving multi-account architectures, advanced networking, Kubernetes, serverless technologies, and AI/ML platforms. A strong emphasis is placed on security, governance, compliance, resilience, and disaster recovery. You will also help internal teams maximize the value of AWS through scalable, efficient, and modern engineering practices. Mature DevOps disciplines and promote lean-agile principles across major technology initiatives, including test-driven development, flow optimization, and systems thinking. Manage, improve, and optimize production AWS environments while ensuring reliability, scalability, security, governance, and operational efficiency. Design and maintain integrations between complex infrastructure builds and application deployment processes across major projects and systems. Implement and operate AWS Landing Zone Accelerator environments, including multi-account architectures, governance frameworks, security controls, and automation patterns. Design and operate advanced AWS networking solutions, including AWS Application Networking/Lattice, secure service-to-service connectivity, traffic routing, cross-account communication, service-mesh patterns, and hybrid networking. Integrate AI/ML capabilities into cloud platform engineering and develop foundational services that improve operational efficiency, delivery velocity, and platform reliability. Develop automation solutions using Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, operational scripting, Python, and AWS Lambda to reduce manual processes. Troubleshoot complex information-system and cloud engineering issues, providing technical guidance and recommendations to other specialists. Analyze, design, and evaluate sophisticated automation scripts, systems, and platform architectures. Support and lead complex workload migrations to AWS, ensuring appropriate performance, security, scalability, and operational readiness. Design, build, and operate workloads using Kubernetes and AWS serverless architectures. Research emerging technologies and assess their potential to deliver efficient, scalable, and effective solutions. Coach colleagues and provide technical expertise across DevOps, cloud engineering, automation, and related disciplines. Contribute to continuous improvement of cloud operations, engineering standards, and platform capabilities. Requirements Extensive hands-on experience operating and optimizing AWS production environments at scale. Deep knowledge of the AWS Cloud Operations lifecycle, including security, governance, compliance, resilience, and disaster recovery. Proven experience implementing and operating AWS Landing Zone Accelerator, including multi-account architecture, governance, security controls, and automation. Practical experience with AWS Application Networking/Lattice and advanced networking concepts, including secure connectivity, traffic routing, service-to-service communication, cross-account networking, and hybrid environments. Experience integrating AI/ML capabilities into AWS platform engineering, including foundational services and the use of AI to improve operational workflows and platform reliability. Strong automation expertise, including Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD pipelines, scripting, and other approaches to eliminating manual operational work. Demonstrated history of migrating complex workloads to AWS. Experience designing, building, and operating Kubernetes-based and AWS serverless workloads. Strong Python development skills, particularly for operational tooling, automation scripts, and AWS Lambda functions. Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities, with the ability to resolve complex technical problems and communicate solutions effectively. Ability to research emerging technologies, assess their practical value, and translate them into scalable technical solutions. Experience mentoring or coaching technical professionals and collaborating effectively across teams. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a broader cloud and DevOps engineering environment. Benefits Salary: $123,240–$144,797.60 annually, with geographic differentials potentially available in certain high-cost U.S. labor markets.
