Cybersecurity spent two decades building stronger walls. Today, those walls no longer define security success. In an AI-powered world, where threats move at machine speed and risks propagate instantly across interconnected ecosystems, the organizations that respond fastest will be the organizations that remain resilient.

As organizations accelerate the adoption of AI, multicloud platforms, and highly connected digital ecosystems, while navigating increasingly complex regulatory requirements, cyber resilience has become the defining metric of security success. In today’s interconnected world, organizations face interconnected risks, where vulnerabilities in third parties, supply chains, cloud environments, applications, or AI systems can rapidly cascade across the enterprise and beyond.

In this environment, speed is becoming the most critical cyber defense capability. The ability to detect, investigate, respond to, and remediate threats in minutes rather than days directly impacts business resilience, operational continuity, and regulatory compliance. Traditional, human-centric approaches can no longer keep pace with the scale, velocity, and sophistication of modern attacks.

Frontier AI technologies are fundamentally changing the balance between attackers and defenders by enabling unprecedented levels of automation, intelligence, and decision support. By augmenting security teams with AI-powered detection, analysis, prioritization, and remediation capabilities, organizations can dramatically reduce response times, accelerate vulnerability and exposure management, and contain threats before they become business-impacting incidents.

Security operations are entering a new era

The future of cyber resilience belongs to organizations that embrace AI-first defense strategies. Leveraging AI for defenders is no longer optional; it is paramount to achieving the speed, scale, and precision required to stay ahead of increasingly automated and AI-enabled adversaries. In cybersecurity, the advantage no longer belongs to those with the most tools, but to those who can act the fastest.

AI should enhance expertise, not replace it

As frontier AI continues to evolve, security operations will undoubtedly become more intelligent and autonomous. The challenge, however, is not to deploy the latest model everywhere, but to apply the right technology to the right problem.

That is why our AI-Powered Security Operations Center (SOC) follows an “AI last” philosophy. Not all AI is equal, and not every security challenge requires a frontier AI model. This approach was shaped through hundreds of hours of analysis across the entire SOC value chain. We systematically examined every stage, process, decision point, and operational task, assessing where deterministic automation, analytics, machine learning, expert systems, generative AI, agentic AI, or human expertise delivered the greatest value. The objective is to select the most effective, fastest, and most economical approach for each task.

For known threats and well-understood operational processes, automation remains the most powerful tool available. If a threat can be identified, filtered, enriched, or remediated through deterministic workflows, there is little value in consuming expensive frontier AI resources to achieve the same result. Why invoke a large-scale AI model when a few hundred lines of automation running at wire speed can deliver a faster, more reliable, and more cost-effective outcome?

AI should be reserved for the problems where it creates unique value: accelerating investigations, correlating complex attack patterns, reasoning across massive datasets, supporting human decision-making, and autonomously addressing novel, ambiguous, or rapidly evolving threats.

Increasingly, this includes agentic security capabilities that can autonomously investigate alerts, correlate attack patterns, recommend response actions, and execute approved remediation workflows. By combining human oversight with AI-driven autonomy, organizations can dramatically accelerate security outcomes while maintaining governance, accountability, and control.

In these scenarios, AI can dramatically enhance defender effectiveness and compress the time required to detect, investigate, respond, and remediate.

AI last does not mean AI less. It means exhausting simpler, faster, and more deterministic methods first, then applying increasingly sophisticated AI capabilities only where they deliver measurable operational advantage. By combining automation, analytics, machine learning, expert systems, frontier AI, and human expertise in the right sequence, organizations achieve greater speed, lower cost, higher resilience, and better security outcomes.

Ultimately, the goal is not to use more AI. The goal is to make better security decisions, respond faster than adversaries, and deliver cyber resilience at enterprise scale. In cybersecurity, the most advanced solution is not always the best one; the best solution is the one that resolves risk in the fastest, most reliable, and most efficient way possible.

Looking ahead

We believe being recognized as a Leader in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide MDR/MXDR for the Enterprise 2026 Vendor Assessment is an important milestone, and we are honored by it. More importantly, it reinforces our belief that managed security is entering a new chapter.

Cybersecurity is no longer just about protecting IT environments. In a world powered by AI, it has become a critical business capability that enables organizations to innovate with confidence, maintain operational resilience, and adapt to constant change. As businesses become increasingly interconnected, so do their risks. A vulnerability anywhere in the ecosystem can rapidly become a business issue everywhere.

As attackers increasingly leverage AI to operate at unprecedented scale and speed, cyber resilience will become one of the most important sources of competitive advantage. Success will depend on an organization’s ability to detect, investigate, respond, and remediate threats faster than adversaries can exploit them. Speed is becoming the defining metric of modern cybersecurity.

That is the future of managed security: AI-powered, automation-first, resilient by design, and focused relentlessly on outcomes at speed. It is a future where organizations continuously reduce risk, recover with confidence, and strengthen their business over time. It is the future we are committed to building with our clients. Speed is the new perimeter!
