Sr. Accounting Manager - (CPG & E-Commerce)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Accounting Manager - (CPG & E-Commerce) based in United States. This fully remote role combines accounting leadership, client management, and financial reporting across a portfolio of CPG and e-commerce businesses. You will oversee a pod of Accounting Managers and bookkeepers while providing direction, quality control, and escalation support. The role is central to delivering accurate weekly and monthly financial reporting and ensuring strong accounting processes across client accounts. You will review close activities, financial packages, inventory, payables, receivables, payroll, and key balance sheet and P&L trends. Strong business acumen and communication skills will be essential as you act as both a client thought partner and a leader for your team. You will also contribute to SOP development, training, budgeting, and continuous improvements in a technology-driven accounting environment. Accounting & Month-End Close: Oversee month-end close and key accounting activities for your assigned client pod, ensuring timely, accurate, and complete financial reporting. Financial Package Review: Review management reports, key metrics, accounting packages, balance sheet reconciliations, and trend analysis across the balance sheet and P&L. Inventory Management: Review physical and subledger-to-GL inventory reconciliations, write-offs, obsolescence adjustments, individual product costs, and inventory system accuracy. Accounts Receivable & Payable: Review accounts receivable processing and aging reports, as well as accounts payable processing, aging reports, and bill payments through Bill.com or similar platforms. Payroll Review: Review payroll processing, related journal entries, and accruals to ensure accurate accounting treatment. Client Partnership: Manage client communications, provide requested reports or financial details, and serve as an escalation point and trusted thought partner. Team Leadership: Supervise, support, and train Accounting Managers and bookkeepers on client-facing and administrative responsibilities. Process Development: Help develop SOPs and training materials, maintain organized files and documentation, and contribute to ongoing process improvements. Budget & Team Contribution: Manage the budget for your assigned pod, participate in required training, and contribute as a solutions-oriented thought partner to the broader internal team. Requirements Accounting Experience: 5+ years of full-cycle accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a multi-client, consulting, or similar environment. Leadership Experience: 2+ years of experience leading a team, with the ability to provide direction, coaching, and quality oversight. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required. E-Commerce Expertise: Proven experience supporting e-commerce clients is required, including familiarity with the accounting considerations of online businesses. Accounting Platforms: Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Excel is required; NetSuite and Xero experience is a strong advantage. E-Commerce Systems: Experience reconciling platforms and payment systems such as Shopify, PayPal, Bill.com, or similar tools is required. Technical Accounting: Strong understanding of GAAP, accounting best practices, financial statements, reconciliations, and financial statement analysis. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical ability with a focus on identifying discrepancies, evaluating financial information, and maintaining high standards of accuracy. Communication & Business Acumen: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, team members, and internal stakeholders. Remote Leadership: Ability to prioritize effectively, manage time independently, and remain proactive and team-oriented in a remote work environment.
