Full job description
Parallel Wireless is reimagining mobile networks with innovative, energy-efficient Open RAN solutions. Join us as we lead the future of telecommunications, driving innovation through green and sustainable networks. Learn more about our mission, vision and values.
We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate Sr. AI PHY System Engineer to design, implement, and integrate advanced cellular communication systems for our next-generation base-station products. The role leads PHY activities from feature development through integration, with a strong emphasis on automation and the use of modern AI tools to accelerate development, debugging, and validation.
Leverage existing AI tools (AI coding assistants, LLM-based workflows) to speed up development, code comprehension, debugging, and documentation. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers within the PHY team, including sharing best practices for automation and AI-assisted development. Act as the focal point for all PHY and RF-related aspects. Define and write system-level requirements. Continuously optimize and fine-tune PHY-layer algorithms to enhance the performance and efficiency of base-station products. Build automation and internal tooling to streamline PHY development, integration, and lab testing — reducing manual effort and improving repeatability. Work within existing codebases and repositories: understand the current architecture quickly, extend it responsibly, and add new capabilities without destabilizing established flows. Design and develop new tools (test harnesses, analysis utilities, reporting dashboards) to support PHY bring-up and validation. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of PHY components with software, digital signal processing (DSP), and other subsystems. Hands-on lab work.
At least 4 years of experience in wireless communication / PHY-layer development or integration. Good understanding of RX and TX PHY and RF chains. Deep understanding of wireless communication systems. Working experience with RF lab test equipment. Solid experience with scripting languages (such as Python) for automation and tool development. Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and extend an existing codebase or repository, and to build new tooling on top of it. Experience using AI tools (e.g. AI coding assistants / LLM-based workflows) to improve development, debugging, and productivity. Good system-level understanding within a multi-disciplinary environment (HW, SW, RF). Excellent communication skills in Hebrew and English (written and verbal), team player, and ability to thrive in a global multi-site environment.
Experience designing automation frameworks or test-automation pipelines for PHY / RF validation. Proficient in MATLAB for data analysis, modeling, and simulation. Involvement in research and development projects related to emerging wireless technologies, such as Massive MIMO and beamforming. Solid knowledge of the physical-layer specifications of 4G/5G.
B.Sc. in Electrical/Computer Engineering
