The Impact of a Senior Collections Associate at Coupa: The Senior Collections Associate will manage a portfolio of accounts across our global customer base, driving timely collection of outstanding receivables while maintaining strong, professional customer relationships. This is a senior individual-contributor role suited to a collections professional with a proven track record in SaaS, FMCG, or financial services environments, and prior exposure to senior sales management engagement.
Own and manage a portfolio of high-value, complex customer accounts, driving end-to-end collections activity. Proactively engage customers via phone, email, and video calls to resolve overdue balances and disputes. Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, Legal, and Deal Desk to resolve billing and contractual issues impacting collections. Escalate and manage senior-level conversations with sales leadership and customer stakeholders on high-risk or high-value accounts. Maintain accurate collections forecasts, aging reports, and cash application records. Identify process improvements to reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) and bad debt exposure. Utilize Oracle and Tesorio (or comparable platforms) to manage workflows, track account status, and report on portfolio health. Support month-end and quarter-end close processes related to accounts receivable.
Minimum 5 years of collections experience, ideally within SaaS, FMCG, or Financial Services industries. Demonstrated history of engaging at a senior sales management level to resolve account issues. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate confidently and professionally. Proven ability to manage a complex, high-value portfolio independently. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time-management skills. Hands-on experience with Salesforce, NetSuite, or Zuora (or equivalent enterprise CRM/ERP/Billing platforms) is highly valuable.
