This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr Director of Sales based in United States. This remote executive sales role will lead revenue growth, market expansion, and commercial strategy across the U.S. municipal sector. You will develop and execute multi-year sales strategies designed to increase revenue, margin, and market share across key territories. The position combines direct government and national-account sales with dealer and distributor network development. You will lead regional Sales Managers, strengthen forecasting and territory execution, and build a high-performing sales organization. A major focus will be expanding municipal dealer coverage while establishing strong service, training, and customer support standards. You will engage with municipalities and government entities through complex procurement, bidding, and cooperative purchasing processes. The role offers significant national visibility and requires approximately 50–60% travel, with candidates located near a major airport.
Develop and execute multi-year sales strategies to drive revenue, margin, market share, and sustainable growth across U.S. municipal markets. Lead, mentor, coach, and evaluate Regional Sales Managers, ensuring effective territory management, sales execution, and accurate forecasting. Identify and pursue major government entities, municipalities, national accounts, and strategic public-sector opportunities. Manage direct sales initiatives and public procurement contracts across targeted municipal markets. Recruit, assess, develop, and manage high-performing municipal dealers and distributors to expand market coverage. Provide dealers with training, sales resources, marketing toolkits, and commercial support to maximize performance. Establish and maintain dealer service standards covering parts stocking, technician certification, warranty execution, and customer support. Build strong relationships with government customers, dealers, distributors, and other strategic stakeholders. Monitor market trends, competitive activity, territory performance, and sales pipeline development to inform commercial decisions. Communicate sales performance, forecasts, opportunities, and challenges to senior leadership. Travel nationally approximately 50–60% to support customers, dealers, sales teams, and strategic business opportunities. Requirements: 10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in cleaning equipment, municipal vehicles, street sweepers, industrial machinery, or a closely related industry. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree or MBA is preferred. Proven success developing and expanding independent dealer or distributor networks. Demonstrated experience managing multi-channel U.S. sales strategies across complex territories and customer segments. Deep understanding of municipal bidding, government procurement processes, and cooperative purchasing programs such as Sourcewell and GSA. Strong leadership experience managing, mentoring, and developing regional or geographically distributed sales teams. Ability to build strategic relationships with municipalities, government organizations, dealers, distributors, and national accounts. Technical comfort with complex machinery, hydraulics, attachment integration, and total cost of ownership (TCO) value propositions. Strong commercial judgment, negotiation, forecasting, territory planning, and sales performance management skills. Excellent communication, presentation, relationship-building, and leadership abilities. Ability to operate independently in a remote environment while maintaining strong collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. Willingness and ability to travel nationally approximately 50–60%. Candidates must live near a major airport to support the travel requirements of the role.
