Full Job Description

Ascent Resources is seeking a Senior Production Engineer. This position is located at our corporate headquarters in Oklahoma City, OK and reports to the Production Engineering Manager. The Production Engineer performs all conventional aspects of engineering work and requires the individual to be well rounded in experience and/or education in the various areas of production and operations engineering.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Well surveillance and optimization
  • Conduct engineering studies
  • Evaluate feasibility and economics of proposed projects
  • Resolve existing or potential complex production challenges
  • Asset management planning
  • Workover design and execution
  • Production equipment design and troubleshooting
  • Cost estimating and budgeting
  • Interfacing with working interest partners, service companies and regulatory agencies

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Minimum Requirements:

  • Well versed in unconventional asset development and artificial lift techniques
  • Proven experience in LOE reduction
  • Extreme level of detail orientation with a high level of accuracy
  • Ability to foster high level of confidence and reliability in thought processes and results
  • Professional and polished demeanor
  • Ability to work directly with all levels of personnel, from top management to lease operators
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects against assigned deadlines
  • Demonstrated maturity in handling confidential data

Education & Work Experience Required

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering
  • 5 - 12 years of professional oil and gas exploration and production experience
