Sr. Software Engineer (MXC)

This role is on our Incident Response team. Customers use Incident Response during an active emergency — to declare an incident, assess who and what is affected, assign tasks, and coordinate the response across the organization. As an AI-forward company, we actively use modern AI tools such as Claude, Codex, and other emerging technologies to help our engineers work smarter, move faster, and build better products.    Who you are:     You thrive in a collaborative engineering environment that plays to everyone's strengths with a willingness to work across the entire stack. You've developed scalable production web applications in Python/Django/Next.js/React. You design for people operating under pressure, and you think as carefully about the failure paths as the happy path. You care about the quality of your work, the impactful product you help build, and the team you help build it with. You have AWS (or other cloud) experience and are willing to learn from people with both more and less experience than you. You are a user of AI-assisted development tools that improve engineering workflows, code quality, and team productivity.    What you get to do every day:     Design and develop features for the AlertMedia Incident Response produc t   Build features that hold up during live emergencies — correct under load, and predictable when a dependency degrades    Learn the AlertMedia platform, its tools, and how customers use them Work with Python, Django, Next.js, React, Node, and other web technologies    Use AI-enabled tools such as Claude, Codex, and other emerging platforms to support development, problem-solving, documentation, and productivity    Work in an Agile-based environment using tools like Git, JIRA, Jenkins, and Slack    Help maintain AlertMedia's technology advantage over other solutions through innovative development and by contributing new ideas for leveraging technology in our product line Use strong verbal and written communication skills in collaboration with other engineering and product teams    Contribute to AlertMedia’s culture, values and vision for the future    What you bring to the role:     Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field preferred    6+ years of experience building scalable web applications, Python/Django/React/Node tech stack preferred    Experience with Linux-based containers using tools like Docker or Kubernetes    Experience with Amazon Web Services (or other cloud services) is required    Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis, and other storage technologies is required    You have an established practice of writing unit and integration tests    Proficiency using AI coding tools (Claude, Cursor, Codex, or similar) across the development lifecycle    Collaborative mindset to partner with principal engineers and leadership to drive architectural evolution for a critical application    Strong organizational skills and ability to manage working on multiple projects in parallel    The ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment    Outstanding communication skills and ability to effectively work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, challenging environment    Strong English proficiency (written and oral) is required    Location:   This role is remote in Mexico. We do have a Mexico City office in the Reforma area if you'd like to go into the office and collaborate with our engineering team, otherwise it is a fully remote position based in Mexico.
