Sr. System Integration Test Engineer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. System Integration Test Engineer based in United States. This remote role offers the opportunity to support enterprise software modernization and delivery initiatives within a complex healthcare IT environment. You will lead system integration and software testing activities, ensuring requirements are thoroughly validated across distributed applications and interconnected systems. The role combines test planning, execution, defect management, data validation, and independent verification and validation (IV&V). You will work with technologies including web services, APIs, healthcare interoperability standards, databases, and distributed application environments. Your work will help ensure reliable functionality, interoperability, data integrity, and end-to-end business process performance. The position requires strong collaboration with technical teams and stakeholders while maintaining rigorous testing standards and documentation. It is well suited to an experienced testing professional who can independently lead complex test efforts in a regulated environment.

Analyze and interpret business, functional, and technical requirements to determine comprehensive testing needs. Develop detailed test plans and test cases and ensure all requirements are appropriately mapped to test coverage. Review system architecture, test environments, test data requirements, and integration points to prepare effective testing strategies. Execute comprehensive testing across positive, negative, validation, exploratory, regression, and data migration scenarios. Perform system integration, verification and validation, interoperability, and data integrity testing across distributed components and end-to-end business processes. Validate database persistence, web services connectivity, data transfers, and interoperability between internal and external systems. Conduct negative testing to verify appropriate error handling and processing. Identify, document, track, and disposition defects according to established standards and processes. Prepare detailed test execution reports, status reports, and final test analysis reports. Communicate testing progress, risks, findings, and defects to technical teams and other stakeholders. Follow established testing standards, processes, quality controls, and review procedures. Work effectively both independently and collaboratively while maintaining strong relationships with project teams and customers. Requirements: 7+ years of experience in software testing, including experience leading testing efforts across the software testing lifecycle. Demonstrated experience developing detailed test plans, test cases, test reports, status communications, and defect presentations. Knowledge of test management and test automation tools. Experience with Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), SOAP and REST message structures, and distributed applications. Knowledge of healthcare interoperability technologies and standards, including FHIR and HL7. Professional experience in Healthcare IT; Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience with government or private-sector healthcare environments is a plus. Broad technical expertise spanning IT products, operating systems, software, hardware, systems, networks, databases, and specialized distributed application environments. Bachelor’s degree in a technical, engineering, scientific, managerial, business, or related discipline. Four years of relevant experience, or an associate degree plus two years of relevant experience, may substitute for the bachelor’s degree. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present technical information and testing findings clearly. Ability to work independently, collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and follow established standards and processes. U.S. citizenship is required, along with the ability to successfully complete a government background screening process. Experience testing web services with tools such as SOAPUI, CA DevTest, CAI, or service virtualization platforms is preferred. Experience with healthcare applications, particularly Veterans Affairs healthcare systems, is valued. Familiarity with IBM Rational tools and/or OpenText Application Lifecycle Management is preferred. Understanding of Agile methodologies and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) models. Experience with InterSystems HealthShare or Ensemble is a plus. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as collaboration tools such as Teams and SharePoint.
