  • Working Hours: Mondays - Fridays, 8:00am - 5:00pm PST
  • Location: LATAM (Remote)

JOB OVERVIEW: The Staff Accountant supports the company’s financial operations by preparing financial statements, ensuring general ledger accuracy, and assisting in close processes. This role is essential in maintaining compliance with accounting standards, enhancing financial controls, and contributing to the organization’s overall financial integrity. The Staff Accountant is responsible for financial reporting, reconciliations, and supporting budgeting and forecasting processes. This role requires attention to detail, a strong understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to support continuous improvement initiatives in accounting operations. Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Reporting: Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements for multiple real estate properties.
  • General Ledger: Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, reconcile accounts, and assist in month-end and year-end close processes.
  • Reconciliation: Perform monthly reconciliations for multiple accounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in preparing annual budgets and quarterly forecasts, including variance analysis and reporting.
  • Property Accounting: Track and report on property-related expenses, capital expenditures, rent collections, and tenant deposits.
  • Month-end, Year-end Close: Assist in the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparing and reviewing journal entries, accruals, and financial reports.
  • Accounting Processes and Internal Controls: Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, payment posting, and vendor management.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations, internal policies, and procedures.
  • Audit: Assist with internal and external audits by preparing documentation and providing
  • necessary information.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes and improve financial controls. Minimum Qualifications - Must have:
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate, property management, or
  • investment firms.
  • Proficiency in real estate accounting software (such as Yardi, MRI, or RealPage), AI
  • tools (such as Claude and ChatGPT), and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel advanced skills.
  • Understanding of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP) and real
  • estate accounting. Nice to have:
  • Big 4 accounting firm experience is a plus. Competencies: The following competencies will help ensure success in this role
