Staff Engineer, Workday Technical Consultant (Integration)

Our partner is looking for a Staff Engineer, Workday Technical Consultant (Integration) based in India. This role offers the opportunity to lead the technical design, development, and support of Workday integrations across a complex global environment. You will translate business needs into scalable technical solutions while working across multiple integration patterns and Workday functional areas. The position combines hands-on engineering with production support, troubleshooting, reporting, security, and business process configuration. You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, implementation partners, and internal IT teams to deliver reliable solutions. The role provides broad exposure to Workday technologies including EIBs, Core and Benefit Connectors, PECI, Workday Studio, and BIRT. You will also contribute to continuous improvements across critical HR, payroll, recruiting, and learning processes while supporting global teams during US business hours.

Translate business requirements into effective Workday technical solutions, integration designs, and implementation approaches. Design, develop, enhance, test, deploy, and support integrations between Workday and internal or external systems. Develop and maintain integrations using EIBs, Core Connectors, Benefit Connectors, PECI, Workday Studio, and Document Transformation. Configure and support Workday Business Processes according to business and technical requirements. Design, develop, and maintain Workday Reports and BIRT reports. Provide production support for existing Workday functional and integration solutions, including troubleshooting and issue resolution. Perform root-cause analysis for integration, reporting, configuration, and production issues and resolve them within agreed timelines. Support mass data uploads, user template processing, and outbound integration requirements. Upload, configure, and maintain Workday content such as questionnaires, onboarding materials, and related configurations. Maintain appropriate Workday security profiles and configurations. Support Workday functionality across Core HCM, Compensation, Payroll, Recruiting, Applicant Tracking, Employee Management, and Learning Management as required. Collaborate with business stakeholders, implementation partners, and internal IT teams throughout requirements gathering, development, testing, deployment, and support. Participate in validation, release, deployment, and post-production activities. Follow IT Service Management processes covering incident, problem, and change management. Work effectively with globally distributed teams and provide support during required US business hours. Requirements: 6+ years of overall professional experience with strong technical expertise in Workday integrations, development, enhancement, and production support. Hands-on experience with EIBs, including user template processing, mass uploads, and outbound integrations. Practical experience with Core Connectors, Benefit Connectors, PECI, Workday Studio, and Document Transformation. Strong knowledge of Workday Business Process configuration and the ability to translate functional requirements into technical solutions. Hands-on experience developing and maintaining Workday Reports and BIRT reports. Knowledge of Workday Security and security profiles. Experience supporting existing Workday functional and integration solutions in production environments. Familiarity with uploading and managing Workday content, including questionnaires, onboarding content, and related materials. Knowledge of Core HCM, Compensation, Payroll, Applicant Tracking, Recruiting, Employee Management, and Learning Management is an advantage. Workday certification is preferred. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with confidence collaborating across business, technical, partner, and IT teams. Strong understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) processes, including incident, problem, and change management. Ability to manage multiple integration requirements and work effectively across different integration patterns. Bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Ability to work during US overlap hours, typically from 12 PM to 9 PM IST.
