Who We Are
AeroVect is transforming ground handling with autonomy, redefining how airlines and ground service providers around the globe run day-to-day operations. We are a Series A company backed by top-tier venture capital investors in aviation and autonomous driving. Our customers include some of the world’s largest airlines and ground handling providers. For more information, visit www.aerovect.com.
As a Staff Software Engineer, Infrastructure (On-Prem), you will own the physical infrastructure that powers AeroVect's autonomous vehicle operations at our garage facilities. You'll manage the current garage computing setup and networking gear, oversee software delivery to our fleet of autonomous tractors, and build the on-prem data processing systems that handle real-world operational data — from dashcam image ingestion to on-site processing pipelines.
This is a hands-on role operating at the intersection of systems software, embedded infrastructure, and physical networking. You'll work in a fast-paced, operationally dynamic environment where priorities shift with active vehicle deployments across live airport sectors. Your systems support operators and vehicles running in the field every day — this is not a ticket queue, it's an operational environment.
You Will
-
Develop, configure and maintain uploaders and networking gear at AeroVect's garage facilities
-
Manage software release delivery to autonomous tractors and on-prem devices across active deployment sites
-
Build and maintain on-prem data processing applications in C++ and Python that handle real-time operational data
-
Ensure reliable ingestion of vehicle data including dashcam images and telemetry, and manage upload flows to cloud infrastructure
-
Maintain and improve an existing operator-facing UI layer that supports day-to-day garage operations
-
Monitor server health, network performance, and data pipeline reliability across on-prem systems
-
Develop automation tools in Python and Bash to streamline on-prem operations, monitoring, and deployment workflows
-
Collaborate with the cloud infrastructure team to ensure clean data handoff between on-prem and cloud systems
-
Adapt quickly to shifting operational priorities across active deployment environments
You Have
-
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
-
7+ years of experience managing on-prem infrastructure, bare metal systems, and physical networking environments
-
Proficiency in C++ for building data processing applications — standard library, basic multithreading, socket and WebSocket implementation
-
Strong proficiency in Python and Bash for automation, tooling, and operational scripting
-
Hands-on experience physically configuring servers/computers and network hardware
-
Experience managing software deployment pipelines to physical devices or embedded systems
-
Familiarity with data ingestion pipelines and managing data flows from edge devices to centralized infrastructure
-
Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with shifting operational priorities
We Prefer
-
Experience in robotics, autonomous vehicles, or operationally deployed technology environments
-
Background in embedded systems or edge computing with C++ data processing applications
-
Experience supporting operator-facing tools or lightweight UI components for operational systems
-
Familiarity with WebSocket and socket-based communication for real-time data applications
-
Knowledge of monitoring and alerting for on-prem systems and network infrastructure
-
ROS/ROS2 familiarity or experience with robotic software deployment pipelines
