As a Staff Software Engineer, you will serve as a senior technical anchor with organization-wide influence across complex engineering environments. You will shape architectural strategy and roadmaps for large-scale products and platforms that are critical to long-term business objectives. The role focuses on solving systemic challenges involving distributed systems, high concurrency, data consistency, reliability, and scalability. You will transform ambiguous technical problems into clear, maintainable solutions while establishing engineering standards and best practices. Beyond architecture, you will mentor senior engineers, influence technical decisions, and help strengthen engineering culture across teams. You will work across organizational boundaries, balancing technical trade-offs while aligning engineering, product, and business stakeholders. The position follows a remote-first model, allowing you to work from anywhere in Brazil, with the option to work from offices or partner coworking spaces in São Paulo.

Set architectural direction and define technical strategies and roadmaps for complex platforms and product scopes with organization-wide impact. Identify new technical opportunities and establish the architecture and execution strategy required to address them. Break down ambiguous, highly complex problems into clear, execution-ready technical scopes and design simple, maintainable systems with well-defined interfaces. Drive engineering excellence by establishing technical standards, best practices, and policies across complex team and product domains. Evaluate and own critical engineering trade-offs, balancing factors such as simplicity versus flexibility, velocity versus reliability, and build versus buy. Act as a senior technical advisor to engineering and management teams, proactively identifying and removing technical obstacles. Design and guide systems that cross team boundaries while remaining reliable, scalable, and maintainable as products and organizations grow. Mentor senior engineers and contribute to their technical development through guidance, feedback, and influence without relying on formal authority. Provide senior technical assessments to support project strategy, team composition, and broader engineering decisions. Serve as a technical reference during hiring and internal allocation processes, including interviews for senior and principal engineering positions. Collaborate across multiple teams and organizational structures to resolve systemic issues involving high concurrency, complex data consistency, and mission-critical systems. Requirements: 10+ years of professional software development experience, with a strong track record delivering high-volume, high-concurrency, and mission-critical distributed systems. Deep knowledge of modern software architecture principles, distributed data consistency, fault tolerance, system optimization, and scalable system design. Proven ability to analyze and clearly articulate complex engineering trade-offs and their implications. Demonstrated experience solving ambiguous technical and organizational challenges while building strategic technical roadmaps. Strong ability to remove collaboration barriers, facilitate difficult structural discussions, and build alignment across teams and stakeholders. Experience designing systems that operate across team boundaries and remain maintainable as products, services, and engineering organizations scale. Strong technical leadership and influence skills, with the ability to mentor senior engineers and guide technical decisions without relying on formal management authority. Ability to combine systemic thinking with pragmatic execution and maintain a strong focus on engineering quality. Fluency in Portuguese and excellent written and verbal English are mandatory, as English is used daily for code, architecture documentation, and global technical alignment.
