Staff Solutions Architect, Public Sector

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Staff Solutions Architect, Public Sector based in United States. This is a senior technical leadership role focused on bringing advanced AI solutions securely into U.S. federal government environments. You’ll lead technical discovery, architecture, and deployment strategy across defense and civilian agencies. The role sits at the intersection of AI technology, cloud architecture, cybersecurity, compliance, and public-sector operations. You’ll partner with senior government stakeholders across legal, IT, security, acquisition, and program teams to design solutions that meet complex requirements. You’ll also help shape a scalable public-sector architecture practice, developing deployment patterns, security approaches, and implementation playbooks. Working closely with Product, Security, Legal Engineering, and Customer Success teams, you’ll turn real-world agency needs into practical technical solutions. Lead technical discovery and solution design for federal prospects and customers across defense and civilian agencies, engaging stakeholders across legal, IT, security, acquisition, and program functions. Design, document, and defend secure and compliant architectures for AI deployments in government environments, including FedRAMP High environments, identity and access patterns, integrations, and data-handling requirements. Own the technical relationship across a focused portfolio of high-impact federal accounts, supporting engagements from initial discovery through deployment, adoption, and expansion. Partner with Security and Trust teams on agency security reviews, including FedRAMP High controls, DoD Impact Levels, Authority to Operate (ATO) processes, authorization boundaries, and NIST 800-53 requirements. Translate complex security and compliance concepts into clear guidance for program managers, legal teams, CISOs, enterprise architects, and other senior stakeholders. Collaborate with Legal Engineering and Customer Success teams to translate agency workflows, legal use cases, and policy requirements into concrete solutions, reusable technical patterns, and implementation playbooks. Act as the public-sector technical voice within the organization, synthesizing customer and field feedback to inform product roadmaps, evaluation criteria, deployment options, and government-specific documentation. Represent the technical solution in customer workshops, working groups, stakeholder briefings, and other public-sector forums, clearly communicating both the capabilities and limitations of modern AI systems. Build and continuously improve the public-sector Solutions Architecture playbook, covering qualification, security reviews, deployment patterns, technical enablement, and scalable implementation practices. Help establish repeatable approaches that allow the public-sector practice to grow beyond individual customer engagements while maintaining strong security, compliance, and technical standards. Requirements: 7+ years of experience in Solutions Architecture, Sales Engineering, Forward-Deployed Engineering, or a comparable customer-facing technical role. Direct experience supporting or selling to U.S. federal government customers, including Department of Defense and/or civilian agencies, within a SaaS, cloud, or enterprise technology environment. Practical understanding of federal compliance and security frameworks, including FedRAMP, NIST 800-53, DoD Impact Levels, and Authority to Operate (ATO) processes. Ability to explain complex security, architecture, and compliance requirements effectively to both highly technical and nontechnical audiences, from CISOs and enterprise architects to attorneys and program managers. Strong hands-on knowledge of SaaS security and identity architecture, including SSO/SAML, SCIM, encryption and key management, data residency, and audit logging. Experience engaging senior public-sector stakeholders and building credibility across technical, operational, legal, and executive audiences. Hands-on familiarity with modern AI systems, including large language models, prompt design, evaluation approaches, and AI deployment patterns, with an interest in responsible adoption. Strong communication, presentation, stakeholder management, and technical storytelling skills. Ability to operate effectively in an emerging and evolving practice area, with comfort navigating ambiguity, creating new processes, and developing scalable technical playbooks. Experience with government cloud environments such as Azure Government is preferred. Prior government service or military experience is preferred. Experience working with federal systems integrators or government contract vehicles is advantageous. Background in legal technology, e-discovery, document-intensive enterprise workflows, or related environments is a plus. Benefits: Annual base salary range of $218,800–$300,900 USD .
