This role is ideal for an experienced structural design professional who combines strong team management and client-facing capabilities with hands-on technical expertise in complex railway structures. If you have a proven background in structural design management and enjoy leading multidisciplinary teams while remaining involved in key technical decisions, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Job Responsibilities:

1. Manage and lead the Structural Design team, including resource planning, workload management, technical development, and team performance.

2. Plan and manage structural design deliverables across concept, preliminary, detailed, and IFC design stages, ensuring delivery in accordance with project programs, budgets, schedules, and quality requirements.

3. Lead the production and coordination of structural designs for major Rail & Metro structures, including iconic, underground, at-grade, and elevated stations, depots, maintenance facilities, and other major railway structures.

4. Provide technical direction and oversight to the Structural Design team, ensuring appropriate engineering approaches, design methodologies, and technical standards are applied.

5. Act as the primary point of contact for structural design matters with clients, external consultants, contractors, and key stakeholders, leading technical coordination, design discussions, and communication throughout the project lifecycle.

6. Review and technically approve key structural calculations, analysis, drawings, specifications, technical reports, and other engineering deliverables.

7. Maintain hands-on involvement in complex structural design, analysis, and technical problem-solving, particularly for reinforced concrete structures and major structural elements.

8. Lead multidisciplinary design reviews, technical workshops, constructability reviews, value engineering initiatives, and structural coordination activities.

9. Monitor design progress, deliverable quality, resources, and technical risks, identifying and resolving complex structural and multidisciplinary design issues.

10. Mentor and develop structural engineers while supporting continuous improvement of structural design methodologies, standards, processes, and quality procedures.

Job Requirements:

1. Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related Engineering discipline.

2. Minimum 15 years of overall structural engineering experience.

3. Mandatory Rail & Metro design experience, including experience leading structural design delivery throughout the complete design lifecycle from concept and preliminary design through detailed and IFC design.

4. Extensive experience in the structural design of major Rail & Metro structures, including iconic, underground, at-grade, and elevated stations, depots, maintenance facilities, and other major railway structures.

5. Strong reinforced concrete structural design experience is mandatory, with steel structural design experience highly desirable.

6. Proven experience managing structural design teams, resources, deliverables, technical coordination, and stakeholder requirements on major Rail & Metro projects.

7. Strong knowledge of structural analysis, design methodologies, reinforced concrete and steel structural systems, and applicable international structural standards.

8. Proficiency in structural analysis and design software such as ETABS, SAP2000, SAFE, STAAD Pro, or equivalent, together with AutoCAD.

9. Experience with Revit Structure, BIM coordination, and digital engineering workflows is an advantage.

10. Strong technical leadership, client and stakeholder management, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Experience working on large-scale Rail & Metro projects with international engineering consultancies.

2. Experience in the design of iconic and architecturally complex railway stations and major rail infrastructure.

3. Experience across underground, at-grade, and elevated railway structures.

4. Strong combined experience in reinforced concrete and steel structural design.

5. Experience leading geographically distributed or multidisciplinary structural design teams.

6. Familiarity with GCC railway requirements, international structural standards, and regional building codes.
