As our Subject Matter Expert, you are the bridge between the world of property valuation, property acquisition and mortgage financing on one side, and our product, data and engineering teams on the other. You know how valuations, lending decisions and financing processes really work – and you are ready to question why the industry has been doing them the same way for 20 years.

Why This Role Matters

You will be active in product development from day one: you help define what our products need to do to be truly relevant for the mortgage financing market, you validate valuation and financing logic, and you challenge our models with real domain expertise. On the data side, you drive data acquisition and annotation – identifying which data matters, how it must be interpreted, and labelling and reviewing it so our models learn the right things. You own data quality assurance from a domain perspective: plausibility, consistency, and regulatory soundness.

We follow the rules – but we break the conventions. This role is perfect for someone who is professionally rock-solid, curious about emerging technologies, and would rather build the system of tomorrow than process files in the system of yesterday.

What You'll Do

• You act as the domain sparring partner for our engineering, data and product teams on everything around property acquisition, valuation and mortgage financing
• You contribute to product development: shaping features, user flows and valuation/financing logic so they are correct, intuitive and relevant for the market
• You drive data acquisition: identifying, sourcing and prioritising the data that makes our products better
• You perform and steer data annotation – defining labelling guidelines and ensuring domain-correct interpretation of property, valuation and financing data
• You own domain-side data quality assurance: plausibility checks, parameter reviews, consistency and QA of new releases
• You translate industry rules and regulatory requirements into digital workflows and model logic – breaking the rules of convention, not the law
• You actively explore how new technologies, especially AI/LLMs, can transform valuation and financing processes

What We’re Looking For

Don’t worry if you don’t fulfill all criteria. Everyone’s got a focus.

• Solid professional background in residential real estate valuation (Immobilienbewertung), property acquisition and/or mortgage financing (e.g. bank valuation departments, credit analysis, mortgage financing, valuation service providers)
• Sound knowledge of standard valuation approaches (Vergleichswert, Ertragswert, Sachwert) and the regulatory frameworks behind them (e.g. ImmoWertV, BelWertV) and/or bank-side financing and lending processes
• Genuine digital affinity: comfortable working with modern tools, platforms and automated processes
• Conceptual thinking: you understand how domain logic is translated into data models and products (no coding skills required)
• Ability to critically assess data: market prices, comparables, parameters, plausibility
• Willingness to challenge existing industry conventions and think outside current constraints
• Curiosity and openness for new technologies, especially AI – you want to work with it, not against it
• Strong communication skills in an interdisciplinary environment (Tech, Product, Data); German and English
• (Bonus) HypZert F or M certification (or certification exam within reach), or a comparable qualification (e.g. DIN 17024 based)
• (Bonus) Experience with system-supported valuation processes (Sprengnetter, on-geo LORA, vdp tools, AVMs)
• (Bonus) Experience working in a startup or product-driven environment
