Substitute Teacher, Early Learning Center

SAR Academy, a Modern Orthodox, co-educational day school in Riverdale, NY, is seeking a substitute teacher for the 2025-2026 school year in our Early Learning Center (Nursery-Kindergarten).

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with grade-level and classroom teams to plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities
• Lead and facilitate small group learning to support individualized instruction and growth
• Contribute to a warm, inclusive classroom environment that fosters curiosity, creativity, and independence
• Partner with co-teachers to carry out daily classroom routines and support students' social-emotional and academic development
• Support classroom needs outside of teaching time, including lunch and recess supervision

Qualifications:

• Ability to build meaningful connections with children and create an environment of mutual respect
• Strong problem-solving and team collaboration skills
• Knowledge of child development of principles in social, emotional and cognitive areas
• Creative, flexible and open-minded approach to teaching and learning
• Demonstrated experience in early childhood classrooms and familiarity with current best practices
• Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills in a team-oriented environment
