Supply Chain Intern (Summer 2027)

Job Overview We are seeking a Supply Chain Intern to work alongside our supply chain team on impactful, project-based assignments spanning procurement, planning, production scheduling, materials management, supplier quality, supplier development, commodity management, and logistics. You will partner with engineering, operations, quality, and mission operations to help solve real supply chain challenges tied to Saronic's growth in autonomous surface vessel production. Responsibilities • Support cross-functional supply chain projects spanning procurement, planning, production scheduling, materials management, supplier quality, supplier development, commodity management, and logistics • Assist buyers and planners with purchase order creation, expediting, and supplier follow-up to help ensure on-time delivery of parts and materials • Help build and maintain data trackers and dashboards to monitor supplier performance, on-time delivery, inventory levels, and material shortages • Support production scheduling efforts by helping align material availability with build plans and program timelines • Assist with supplier quality initiatives, including tracking non-conformances, corrective action requests, and supplier scorecards • Contribute to supplier development activities such as capacity assessments, onboarding new suppliers, and documenting supplier capabilities • Support commodity management research, including should-cost analysis, market and spend analysis, and identifying cost-saving opportunities • Assist with shipment tracking, inbound and outbound coordination, and documentation across transportation modes • Help analyze inventory and materials data to identify trends, shortages, or process improvement opportunities • Participate in cross-functional meetings and present findings or recommendations from assigned projects Qualifications • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field; graduation date of December 2027 or later • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel; familiarity with data visualization or ERP/MRP tools a plus • Interest in defense, aerospace, maritime, or advanced manufacturing industries • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively in ambiguous, fast-moving environments • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across functional teams • Detail-oriented with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset • Prior internship, coursework, or project experience in supply chain, operations, or manufacturing a plus, but not required • This role requires full-time in office presence (40 hours/week) based either in Austin, TX, or Franklin, LA from May through August 2027 Physical Demands • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer • Occasional standing and walking within the office • Manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment • Visual acuity to read screens, documents, and reports • Occasional reaching, bending, or stooping to access file drawers, cabinets, or office supplies • Lifting and carrying items up to 20 pounds occasionally (e.g., office supplies, packages) If this role is based in the United States, it requires access to export-controlled information or items that require “U.S. Person” status.
