System Engineer (Database)

Location: Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates Contract Details: Full-time Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced System Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Oracle database administration and experience with Oracle Fusion ERP modules. The role will involve working closely with our clients to provide technical support and expertise in implementing and maintaining Oracle systems. Key Responsibilities: - Install, configure, and maintain Oracle databases, including 12c, 19c, and 21c versions - Perform patching and upgrading of Oracle databases - Implement and manage backup and recovery strategies, including MAN backup and recovery - Configure and maintain replication strategies using Data Guard - Develop and maintain shell scripts for automation and monitoring purposes - Set up and manage monitoring and alerting using Oracle Enterprise Manager - Conduct SQL performance tuning and optimization - Implement advanced security options such as auditing, VPD, and TDE - Experience with Exadata/RAC Appliance and table partitioning - Provide in-depth knowledge and support for Oracle Fusion ERP modules - Conduct gap analysis and provide solutions for Oracle EBS functions - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve technical issues - Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to Oracle systems and technologies - Document processes and procedures for future reference and training purposes - Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior team members Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field - Minimum of 5 years of experience in Oracle database administration - In-depth knowledge of Oracle Fusion ERP modules - Strong understanding of Oracle EBS functions and gap analysis - Experience with Oracle 12c, 19c, and 21c versions - Familiarity with patching, upgrading, and backup/recovery processes - Knowledge of replication strategies using Data Guard - Proficiency in shell scripting and automation - Experience with SQL performance tuning and optimization - Familiarity with advanced security options such as auditing, VPD, and TDE - Experience with Exadata/RAC Appliance and table partitioning - Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work independently and in a team environment - Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies - Relevant certifications in Oracle database administration will be an advantage.
