Captivation is looking for software developers who can get stuff done while making a difference in support of the mission to protect our country.   Description Captivation Software is looking for a senior level systems engineer who will be working on the watch floor and responsible for monitoring system health, availability, performance, and data pipelines; investigating alerts and incidents; performing authorized recovery actions; escalating unresolved issues; maintaining tickets, shift logs, SOPs, metrics, and reports; providing concise status updates and effective shift handoffs.   Requirements Security Clearance: Must currently hold a Top Secret/SCI U.S. Government security clearance with a favorable Polygraph, therefore all candidates must be a U.S. citizen Minimum Qualifications: Twenty (20) years-experience as a SE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity is required Demonstrated experience in planning and leading Systems Engineering efforts is required. Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree. Security Plus Certification (or willingness to attain within 6 months) Required Skills: Experience with RTRG Mission analytics operation and use Monitoring OS and Applications Troubleshooting OS and Applications and escalating as required Troubleshooting dataflow and escalating as required Troubleshooting network issue and escalating as required Ability to read a variety of Graphs of systems information and interpret them to discern correct operations Good communications skills written and verbal Ability to dissect complex issues and generate concise accurate status Generating metrics and reports for submission to customers using disparate data sources Generating SOPs for use by the members of the Watch desk and/or customers Ability to lead small team of WD shift personnel Ability to direct and provide meaningful guidance to teammates Maintain schedules as required Required Skills: Linux and command-line proficiency; hardware, software, network, and data-flow troubleshooting; clear communication and documentation; ability to follow and maintain SOPs, prioritize incidents, and work independently in a 24×7 environment. Jira, Confluence, Rancher, Elasticsearch, Redis, NiFi, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, virtualization, and monitoring tools such as Nagios, Grafana, and Prometheus.   This position is open for direct hires only.
