Overview

OEGen is a specialist energy investment manager overseeing more than £8 billion of assets under management. Our mission is to accelerate the transition to a net zero energy system

Full job description

OEGen is a specialist energy investment manager overseeing more than £8 billion of assets under management. Our mission is to accelerate the transition to a net zero energy system by investing in clean energy infrastructure and energy transition businesses across multiple jurisdictions. As our international portfolio continues to grow, we are looking to strengthen our in-house tax capability with the addition of a commercially minded tax professional who is keen to develop within a fast-paced investment environment.

The Role

We are looking for a Tax Assistant Manager / emerging Tax Manager to join the OEGen Tax Team, reporting directly to the Funds & Deals Tax Lead. The successful candidate will join the tax function at Sky Generation, the UK clean energy infrastructure platform of the Sky Fund, which owns and manages a number of international operating platforms. These businesses are active across Europe and beyond, developing, investing in and managing renewable energy and broader energy transition assets. This is a strong opportunity for someone with around 4–5 years’ experience who is looking to step into a broader international role and continue developing their technical, commercial and project management capabilities within a growing infrastructure investment environment.

The role will support the Sky Fund’s portfolio and associated holding structures across multiple jurisdictions. You will work closely with investment teams, finance teams, portfolio companies and external advisers on a broad range of tax matters, including tax compliance oversight, reporting, transactions, structuring and ongoing portfolio support. The position offers wide exposure to international investment structures, cross-border transactions and the full lifecycle of infrastructure investments, while working within a collaborative, hands-on and growing in-house tax team.

Support the management of tax matters across OEGen funds and associated holding structures. Coordinate international tax compliance processes with local advisors across multiple jurisdictions. Assist with tax reporting, tax provisioning, and financial statement disclosures. Support tax workstreams on acquisitions, restructurings, refinancings, and other transactions. Review transaction and financing documentation from a tax perspective, with support from senior team members where needed. Monitor tax risks and support ongoing governance and compliance processes. Work closely with investment, finance, legal, and external advisory teams across the business. Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal tax processes and documentation.

Around 4–5 years’ experience in corporate tax. CTA, ACA, or equivalent qualification (or close to qualification). Experience gained in a Big 4 firm, international advisory firm, law firm, or in-house tax team. Good grounding in tax compliance, reporting, and tax accounting. Exposure to cross-border structures or international tax matters is helpful, but deep expertise is not expected. An interest in infrastructure, energy, or investment management is a plus. Foreign language skills (particularly German, French, Spanish, or Italian) would be beneficial but are not required. Most importantly, we are looking for someone with strong reasoning skills, good commercial awareness, and a willingness to learn. This role would suit someone looking to grow into a broader international tax management role over time, working closely with experienced senior stakeholders in a supportive and collaborative environment.
