What we're looking for
doola is seeking a customer-oriented and dedicated professional to assist our CPA for the upcoming tax season this year and moving forward! One of the most important parts of operating a successful business in the US is taxes, and at the same time, it can be very confusing both for American and foreign entrepreneurs. As our customer base grows quickly, it’s time for us to provide in-house tax services which will keep our customers’ businesses complaint and in a good state. This is an incredible opportunity to make a meaningful impact and help our customers to manage their US business. This is a permanent position providing assistance to our clients: both assisting them in preparing their business returns and/or fully preparing customer tax returns under the supervision of a CPA.
Review Federal and State business income tax returns prepared by other team members, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable tax laws. Identify errors, inconsistencies, and missing information, providing clear feedback and guidance to tax preparers. Review tax calculations, supporting documentation, and client data before returns are finalized. Work closely with Tax Preparers to resolve technical tax issues and improve filing quality. Assist with complex tax matters, tax notices, amendments, and client inquiries. Communicate directly with clients via email and video calls when additional clarification or tax guidance is needed. Collaborate with the broader Tax team to meet filing deadlines during tax season. Research U.S. federal and state tax regulations to support accurate tax treatment. Contribute to improving internal tax processes, documentation, and quality assurance standards.
Active EA (Enrolled Agent) or CPA license. Active PTIN or the ability to obtain one before tax season. Experience reviewing Federal and State business income tax returns. Strong knowledge of business tax compliance, including quarterly estimates, tax notices, and tax dispute resolution. Experience with Form 1120, Form 5472, and Form 1065, particularly for non-U.S. business owners and partnerships. Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues in a remote work environment, including video meetings. Excellent analytical skills and strong attention to detail. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced startup environment. Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
