About Hobart

Our Hobart campus is a co-educational K–10 school with a reputation for academic progress, character development, and student care. With just over 140 students, the College offers a strong learning culture within a welcoming and growing community.

About the role

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teacher Aide to support our teaching staff and students in the classroom. The successful candidate will assist in providing a positive learning environment and help students achieve their full potential, and will work predominantly with Junior Primary classes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support classroom teachers in delivering lessons and assisting students with learning activities.
  • Work with small groups or individual students requiring additional support.
  • Help maintain a safe, orderly, and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Assist with classroom preparation, resource organisation, and administrative tasks.
  • Support students’ social, emotional, and spiritual development in line with the school’s Christian values.
  • Supervise students during breaks, activities, and excursions as required.

This part time (60 hours per fortnight) role commences Term 4 2026.

Requirements

Essential Requirements:

  • A passion for working with children in a Christian educational setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to work collaboratively with staff and students.
  • Current Working with Children Check (or ability to obtain).
  • Commitment to upholding the Christian ethos and values of the school.

Desirable Attributes:

  • Relevant qualifications (e.g. Certificate III in Education Support or equivalent experience) desirable.
  • Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs.
  • Understanding of contemporary educational practices and classroom management.
  • Ability to contribute to extra-curricular activities and school community life.
