Why has the scholarship changed?
For more than a decade, the Westpac Young Technologists Scholarship supported students at the beginning of their university journey. The Westpac Tech Futures Scholarship builds on that legacy, supporting students at a different moment: as they prepare to take their next step beyond university. It is designed for students whose technical capability is already established and who are ready to develop the leadership skills, networks and perspectives needed to help shape Australia’s future through technology.
What does the leadership program include?
The leadership program is the core component of the scholarship. Over approximately nine months, scholars will participate in immersive leadership development, technology and innovation experiences, online learning and two residential programs. Scholars will have opportunities to learn from researchers, innovators and industry leaders while exploring how technology, leadership and innovation intersect.
Why is leadership a focus of the scholarship?
Australia’s future will be shaped not only by advances in technology, but by the people making decisions about how technology is used. The scholarship is designed to help emerging STEM leaders develop the judgment, self-awareness, adaptability and leadership capability needed to contribute responsibly and effectively in a rapidly changing world.
What is the W100 Scholars Network?
The W100 Scholars Network is a lifelong community of more than 1,000 Westpac Scholars from diverse disciplines, sectors and career stages. What opportunities will I have as part of the W100 Scholars Network?
You’ll attend the annual Westpac Scholars Summit and have ongoing opportunities to connect with fellow scholars, alumni, industry leaders and experts. The network provides opportunities for collaboration, learning and professional relationships that extend well beyond the scholarship year.
How many scholarships will be awarded each year?
Up to 35 scholarships will be awarded each year across six partner universities.
What is the value of each scholarship?
Each scholarship is valued at $20,000. This includes a leadership development and immersive technology experience valued at $15,000, plus a $5,000 financial contribution.
What is the duration of the scholarship?
The core technology leadership experience will run over approximately nine months in 2027 and includes the Westpac Scholars Summit, two leadership residentials and online learning between in-person sessions.

Tips for this scholarship
Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.
- Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
- Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
- Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
- Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.
Verification notes
Extracted from a public opportunity page using specific title, application/deadline, eligibility and benefit signals. Aggregator/news pages remain review-controlled unless an official provider page is successfully verified.
Job and Scholarship is the discovery and verification layer. Confirm eligibility, dates, salary/funding and application instructions on the original source before submitting anything.
