Technical Guidance Lead

This role provides senior technical and management leadership across complex cybersecurity programs supporting federal customers. You will translate federal cybersecurity requirements into practical technical guidance, implementation strategies, and actionable recommendations for government and contractor stakeholders. The position spans security architecture, engineering, control implementation, continuous monitoring, vulnerability and risk management, cloud technologies, and operational cybersecurity. You will lead complex technical assignments, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and help resolve challenging security and implementation issues. Working with senior leadership and technical stakeholders, you will evaluate risks, alternatives, and tradeoffs while supporting informed cybersecurity decisions. This is a fully remote opportunity for an experienced cybersecurity leader who can combine deep technical expertise with strong advisory and management capabilities.

Serve as a senior technical authority for non-assessment cybersecurity matters, interpreting applicable federal requirements and translating them into actionable guidance, technical recommendations, and decision support. Provide expert guidance on security requirements, control implementation, security architecture and engineering, cloud and emerging technologies, continuous monitoring, vulnerability and risk response, security documentation, and operational cybersecurity practices. Review technical approaches, system designs, configurations, changes, and security solutions for alignment with applicable requirements and mission needs. Identify technical risks, dependencies, implementation challenges, and potential tradeoffs, and recommend practical paths toward resolution. Plan and lead major technical guidance assignments by establishing objectives, priorities, methodologies, staffing requirements, and deliverables. Coordinate multidisciplinary cybersecurity, engineering, operations, and program stakeholders to address complex technical challenges. Lead the resolution of cross-system cybersecurity issues by analyzing technical information, facilitating subject-matter-expert collaboration, evaluating alternatives, and presenting defensible recommendations to decision-makers. Develop and improve technical guidance, procedures, standards, templates, decision aids, and reusable practices that promote consistent cybersecurity implementation. Advise technical and program leadership on cybersecurity impacts, implementation options, risks, priorities, and tradeoffs. Prepare and deliver technical briefings, recommendations, guidance, and decision-support materials for senior stakeholders. Coordinate with system owners, security personnel, architects, engineers, operations teams, vulnerability management, security operations, cloud teams, and governance stakeholders to resolve requirements and implementation questions. Monitor changes in federal cybersecurity requirements and technology practices and recommend updates to guidance, processes, technical approaches, and implementation priorities. Lead or supervise supporting technical personnel and contribute to effective resource planning and execution across major assignments. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline. 10+ years of experience in cybersecurity, information assurance, cybersecurity engineering, security architecture, technical advisory services, or a closely related field. Senior-level professional cybersecurity certification such as CISSP or an equivalent credential. Demonstrated experience providing technical and management leadership for major cybersecurity or technology assignments and establishing plans that achieve project objectives. Expert knowledge of cybersecurity principles and federal security requirements, including NIST controls, Risk Management Framework concepts, security architecture and engineering, control implementation, continuous monitoring, vulnerability and risk management, and operational security. Experience directing client activities and coordinating methodologies, staffing, resources, and technical execution to address complex cybersecurity requirements. Proven ability to engage with clients and senior management, negotiate technical matters, and communicate high-impact recommendations, risks, alternatives, and implementation decisions. Demonstrated ability to make complex technical and management decisions requiring advanced cybersecurity expertise and affecting project implementation, security posture, or mission outcomes. Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams or workstreams and supervising personnel as needed. Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills. Ability to obtain a 6c Public Trust clearance; an active Secret clearance is highly preferred. U.S. citizenship is required. Benefits: Competitive salary, with the specific range to be determined.
