Full job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Technical Inside Sales Representative based in Canada. This is a high-impact sales role focused on helping manufacturers adopt advanced robotics, AI, and machine vision solutions. You will own the full sales cycle for a portfolio of value accounts, from outbound prospecting and technical discovery through demonstrations, proposals, negotiation, and close. You will engage engineers, operations leaders, purchasing teams, and executives to understand complex automation challenges and translate them into compelling business outcomes. The role combines technical expertise with consultative and persuasive selling in a primarily virtual environment. You will work closely with Marketing to convert campaigns and inbound leads into qualified opportunities and revenue. You will also collaborate with engineering, applications, product, and customer success teams to deliver strong customer experiences. This is an opportunity to build expertise in robotics, AI vision, and advanced industrial automation while directly contributing to revenue growth.

Proactively identify, research, and engage new prospects through outbound calls, email, LinkedIn, targeted campaigns, and other sales channels. Build a consistent pipeline by meeting targets for new conversations, qualified opportunities, virtual demonstrations, and revenue. Respond quickly to marketing-generated leads, qualify opportunities, and move promising prospects through the sales cycle. Manage a portfolio of mid-sized customers across North America, developing relationships with engineering, operations, purchasing, and other key stakeholders. Identify account expansion opportunities, including additional robotic cells, production lines, and plant locations. Develop strong technical knowledge of AI vision solutions, robotic applications, and integration requirements. Lead technical discovery conversations covering application requirements such as part characteristics, cycle times, cell layouts, robot platforms, and integration constraints. Deliver confident virtual product demonstrations and independently address first-line technical questions. Assess technical and commercial fit early, qualifying opportunities and involving applications engineering when more complex requirements arise. Prepare and manage quotes and proposals, deliver tailored presentations, handle objections, negotiate effectively, and drive opportunities through to close. Maintain consistent follow-up with prospects and customers while working toward revenue and sales targets. Partner closely with Marketing on campaigns, account lists, webinars, trade shows, events, lead definitions, and follow-up processes. Share customer insights, competitive intelligence, and win/loss feedback to strengthen messaging and sales materials. Maintain accurate CRM records, track opportunity health, and provide reliable pipeline forecasts. Collaborate with engineering, applications, product, delivery, and customer success teams to support technical evaluations and ensure smooth post-sale handoffs. Requirements: 3+ years of experience in technical inside sales or full-cycle B2B sales, preferably within robotics, industrial automation, machine vision, advanced manufacturing, or a related technical industry. Strong technical aptitude and the ability to quickly understand complex products and discuss technical concepts credibly with engineers, integrators, and other technical stakeholders. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate persuasively and influence stakeholders at different levels of an organization. Proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear customer value and compelling business cases. Demonstrated success in proactive outbound prospecting and self-generated pipeline development. A consistent track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets. Experience collaborating with Marketing on lead follow-up, campaigns, webinars, events, or other demand-generation initiatives. Strong virtual selling capabilities, including live product demonstrations and solution-based consultative selling. Experience using quoting tools and CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar systems. A degree or diploma in Engineering, Mechatronics, or another relevant technical discipline is strongly preferred; candidates with a Business degree and substantial technical sales experience will also be considered. Familiarity with robotic systems, industrial automation, PLCs, or AI-based machine vision is an advantage. Previous experience in applications engineering, field service, or technical support before transitioning into sales is a plus. Experience selling to Tier 1 or Tier 2 manufacturers, particularly in automotive, packaging, logistics, or similar industries, is beneficial. Familiarity with marketing automation, sales engagement, or account-based marketing tools is an advantage. Benefits: Competitive compensation of $90,000–$150,000 CAD OTE per year , combining base salary and incentive compensation. Stock options and equity participation. Comprehensive employee benefits. Remote work opportunity within Canada. Exposure to cutting-edge AI, machine vision, robotics, and advanced automation technologies. The opportunity to work on solutions that are already improving manufacturing productivity and flexibility. A clear opportunity to grow professionally within the rapidly evolving robotics and industrial automation sector.
