The hackathon runs simultaneous first-round events in Ghent, Antwerp, Leuven, Louvain-la-Neuve, Liège, Kortrijk and Brussels. Thirty-two teams advance to the final in Ghent. The event has two industry challenge tracks and is conducted in English. Participants bring their own laptop; food is provided, while travel to the final is at participants’ own cost.

Anyone who can attend both the first round and, if selected, the final in person may join. Teams are 3–4 people. Individuals may also register and form a team on the platform. No specific expertise is required, although the organiser recommends having programming knowledge within the team.

Tips for this hackathon

Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.

  1. Read the rules, eligibility, judging criteria, required technologies and intellectual-property terms before forming your submission plan.
  2. Build a complementary team early and assign product, engineering, design, research and presentation responsibilities clearly.
  3. Optimize for the published judging rubric: demonstrate a real problem, working solution, measurable impact and a concise live demo.
  4. Prepare the repository, pitch deck, demo video and submission links before the final hours so upload or platform problems do not invalidate the entry.
  5. Check whether travel, finalist presentations, team-size limits or mandatory attendance apply before committing.

Verification notes

Official hackathon page confirms registration closes 29 September 2026, first round 30 September, final 20 October, free participation and a EUR 10,000 winning-team cash prize. No deadline time is stated.
