Full job description
Ready to make connectivity from space universally accessible, secure and actionable? Then you’ve come to the right place!
E-Space is bridging Earth and space to enable hyper-scaled deployments of Internet of Things (IoT) solutions and services. We are building a highly-advanced low Earth orbit (LEO) space system that will fundamentally change the design, economics, manufacturing and service delivery associated with traditional satellite and terrestrial IoT systems.
We’re intentional, we’re unapologetically curious and we’re 100% committed to innovate space-based communications and deliver actionable intelligence that will expand global economies, protect space and our planet and enhance our overall quality of life.
We’re looking for an E2E Test Automation Engineer to develop and maintain reliable, scalable automation for end-to-end validation of next-generation wireless systems. This role spans device functions, radio access, network functions, lab infrastructure, and system-level interfaces across virtualized, hardware-in-the-loop, and physical lab environments.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on automation engineer who can develop Python-based test frameworks, troubleshoot complex system interactions, analyze logs and network traffic, and help qualify software releases through functional, regression, integration, and performance testing.
Develop and maintain a scalable automation framework for end-to-end validation across wireless devices, radio access systems, network functions, and lab infrastructure.
Write Python automation scripts, reusable libraries, and test harnesses for functional, regression, integration, performance, and release-qualification testing.
Automate end-to-end test scenarios such as device registration and attachment, connectivity, data transfer, recovery behavior, and system KPI validation.
Coordinate test execution across virtualized systems, embedded devices, hardware-in-the-loop platforms, and physical lab equipment.
Automate system configuration, test setup, log collection, result processing, and report generation.
Develop tools for packet capture and protocol-level analysis to verify expected system behavior across interfaces.
Measure and analyze system performance, including throughput, latency, packet loss, reliability, and other end-to-end KPIs.
Support testing with RF and networking equipment, including channel emulators, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, and traffic-generation tools.
Investigate automation and test failures by correlating logs, packet captures, device behavior, and system events across multiple components.
Distinguish product defects from test-environment, infrastructure, configuration, and automation-framework issues.
Develop and maintain automation code using Git-based development workflows and support integration with CI/CD pipelines.
Own defect lifecycle management in Jira by reproducing issues, documenting evidence and impact clearly, and tracking defects through resolution and verification.
Collaborate with device, radio, network, platform, systems, and test teams to improve test coverage, reliability, and release readiness.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
2–5 years of experience developing test automation for wireless, networking, embedded, or distributed systems.
Strong Python programming skills and experience building maintainable automation frameworks or test tools.
Good working knowledge of Linux, including shell scripting, process and service management, networking, and system debugging.
Practical understanding of TCP/IP networking and experience troubleshooting connectivity and data-transfer issues.
Experience analyzing system logs and network traffic to isolate failures across multiple components.
Experience developing and maintaining functional, regression, integration, or performance test suites.
Experience with Git and collaborative software-development workflows.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated test execution.
Experience working with virtualized environments such as VMware, Proxmox, or similar platforms.
Strong problem-solving skills and a disciplined, evidence-based approach to debugging and defect tracking.
Ability to work effectively in a hands-on lab environment and collaborate across multiple engineering disciplines.
Experience with cellular or wireless-system architecture, including device/UE, radio access network, and 5G Core functions.
Experience validating end-to-end cellular registration, attachment, connectivity, and data-transfer procedures.
Familiarity with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, or channel emulators.
Experience with Wireshark, tcpdump, iperf, or similar network-analysis and traffic-generation tools.
Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing involving embedded radio or communications hardware.
Familiarity with monitoring and visualization tools such as Grafana or Prometheus.
Exposure to Non-Terrestrial Networks, satellite communications, or LEO communication systems.
This is a fast-paced, high-impact environment - flexibility to occasionally work extended hours or weekends during critical periods is expected.
