Full job description

At Mentee Robotics, we are redefining humanoid automation with an AI-first approach - combining perception, reasoning, and dexterous manipulation into fully autonomous systems that continuously learn and adapt. We are now expanding with a new robotics Engineering center in China, working hand-in-hand with our engineering teams in headquarters. Its mission: to rapidly develop our next-generation full-size humanoid and bring it to life - a walking, working platform that becomes the foundation of our next generation of products. This is a small, senior, hands-on team where speed of iteration is the core value. We are looking for a Testing & Validation Engineer to own quality across the humanoid program: from joint-level dyno and life testing to full-system benchmarking and shipment readiness before delivery to headquarters. You define what 'done' means - for every component and for the robot.

Who you are?

  • A test engineer with strong mechatronics intuition - you understand what you are measuring

  • Structured and data-driven, but pragmatic about what a prototype actually needs

  • Comfortable being the gatekeeper

Responsibilities:

  • Build and operate the joint test infrastructure: dyno setups for torque, speed, efficiency, thermal, and life testing of actuator modules

  • Define and execute component-level verification for boards, batteries, harnesses, and sensors with the responsible engineers

  • Own integration verification at every stage: leg on bench, robot on gantry, free-standing, walking

  • Define and run full-system performance benchmarking (payload, speed, endurance, repeatability) and reliability assessment

  • Build the acceptance criteria and shipment-readiness process for every robot and subsystem delivered to headquarters

  • Develop test automation (Python) and maintain traceable test records tied to hardware and firmware revisions

  • Feed structured failure analysis back into design - you close the iteration loop

Requirements:

  • B.Sc. in Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics Engineering

  • 5+ years in testing and validation of electromechanical systems: robotics, automotive, or automation

  • Hands-on experience building test rigs and instrumentation (torque sensors, current probes, thermal measurement, data acquisition)

  • Strong data analysis skills; Python proficiency for test automation and reporting

  • Experience in defining verification plans, acceptance criteria, and reliability/life test programs

  • Fluent English for cross-site collaboration with headquarters

Advantages:

  • Experience at humanoid/robot companies, cobot firms, or automotive

  • Actuator/servo dyno testing experience

  • Familiarity with HIL testing and firmware validation

  • Exposure to safety and compliance standards for robotics
