The 2026 NRF process begins with online concept-note submission. TETFund states that submitted concepts will be evaluated by the National Research Fund Screening and Monitoring Committee; principal investigators whose concepts are considered potentially fundable will be invited to submit full proposals and defend them before further grant consideration.
Eligibility requirements
Lecturers in public tertiary institutions in Nigeria are eligible. The principal investigator must be institution-based and must not be below Senior Lecturer in a university or Principal Lecturer in a polytechnic or college of education. Multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research teams are encouraged.
