Full Job Description

American Battery Technology Company (ABTC) provides technical development and commercialization of domestic, sustainable sourcing of critical battery materials through lithium-ion battery recycling and battery metal extraction technologies for use in batteries that power electric cars, grid storage applications, and consumer electronics and tools. Our first of kind systems produce commercial-scale battery materials that are sold into the battery manufacturing supply chain.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role will own liquidity planning, financing execution, bank and treasury systems administration, risk management, tax credit monetization, and executive-level treasury reporting. The successful candidate combines rigorous cash stewardship with hands-on transaction execution and strong cross-functional partnership. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced public-company environment, works cross-functionally, and adapts to changing priorities.

Requirements

  • Support and execute financing transactions, including project finance facilities, tax-credit bridge loans, revolving credit facilities, equipment or asset-backed facilities, and government lending programs.

  • Coordinate financing diligence, financial models, lender information requests, transaction documentation, closing deliverables, borrowing-base reporting, covenant compliance, and ongoing lender reporting in partnership with Legal, Accounting, Tax, Operations, and external advisors.

  • Support capital markets transactions, offerings. Maintain transaction schedules, coordinate internal and external workstreams, and support compliance with applicable approvals, documentation, and reporting requirements.

  • Lead enterprise treasury risk management across insurance programs, supplier financial and concentration risk, customer credit exposure, collections, counterparty risk, liquidity risk. Develop risk dashboards, escalation protocols, and mitigation plans.

  • Manage banking relationships, account structures, authorized signers, service pricing, credit support, treasury service reviews, and bank performance. Maintain disciplined controls over account openings, closures, and changes.

  • Own banking and treasury systems administration, including user access, payment workflows, approval authorities, fraud-prevention tools, bank integrations, and interfaces with the ERP and financial reporting processes.

  • Develop and execute strategies to monetize federal and state tax credits, including Section 48E, Section 48C, and other applicable incentives, through direct use, transfer transactions, bridge facilities, or other permitted structures. Coordinate valuation, diligence, documentation, cash timing, compliance tracking, and counterparty management with Tax, Legal, Accounting, and external advisors.

  • Develop conservative excess-cash investment strategies that prioritize preservation of principal, liquidity, diversification, counterparty quality, policy compliance, and an appropriate risk-adjusted return. Monitor maturities, concentration limits, and investment performance.

  • Draft, implement, and maintain treasury policies and procedures covering cash management, investments, debt, banking, payment controls, delegated authorities, counterparty exposure, insurance, collections, and financial risk management.

  • Prepare clear and timely treasury reporting for executive leadership, the Audit Committee, and the Board of Directors, including liquidity outlook, cash forecast accuracy, financing status, covenant compliance, investment activity, tax credit monetization, insurance matters, and key risk exposures.

  • Partner with Accounting on cash reconciliations, debt and investment accounting, financing fees, interest, fair value matters, audit support, internal controls, and financial statement disclosures. Maintain complete, audit-ready treasury documentation.

  • Identify and implement process improvements and automation that strengthen controls, improve forecast accuracy, accelerate reporting, reduce manual activity, and support ABTC’s growth.

  • Experience supporting or executing debt, project finance, revolving credit, bridge loan, or capital markets transactions.

  • Strong financial modeling, analytical, project management, and written communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority workstreams and collaborate effectively with executives, lenders, advisors, Legal, Accounting, Tax, and Operations.

  • Certified Treasury Professional (CTP), CFA, CPA, MBA, or other relevant advanced credential.

  • Experience with government lending programs, including EXIM Bank or U.S. Department of Energy financing.

  • Experience with federal clean-energy or advanced-manufacturing tax credits, including Sections 48E and 48C, tax credit transfers, and tax-credit bridge facilities.

  • Experience with at-the-market equity programs, convertible notes, and public-company capital markets processes.

  • Experience in battery materials, mining, recycling, industrial manufacturing, clean energy, or project development.
