The Universidad Centroamericana José Simeón Cañas Research Fund is accepting 2026 funding applications for research projects, editorial projects and doctoral theses in the research phase. Eligible research may be basic, applied, technological or humanistic, and projects may be disciplinary, multidisciplinary or interdisciplinary. Research projects are expected to contribute to scientific knowledge, academic quality, technological development or innovation and to produce an academic dissemination output.
Eligibility requirements
Research-team coordinators must be UCA academic staff, or staff from social outreach units holding an indefinite contract with the required supervisor and vice-rector approvals. Teams may also include UCA academic, outreach or administrative staff, researchers from other universities or research centers, and undergraduate or postgraduate students as researchers in training.
