UL ALUO invites international artists, designers and researchers—including PhD, early-career and postdoctoral researchers—to a funded-accommodation residency in Ljubljana in 2027.

The residency runs from 15 February to 30 June 2027 for a fixed four-and-a-half-month period. UL ALUO provides a furnished two-bedroom apartment in central Ljubljana for two to four people, pays the apartment's electricity and internet running costs, and provides access to UL ALUO libraries, laboratories and workshops, plus presentation in the public final exhibition. The call does not advertise a cash stipend or travel funding. Selected residents must pay a refundable EUR 1,000 damage deposit within 30 days of selection and be present in Ljubljana for at least 80% of the residency.
Eligibility requirements
Open to foreign artists, designers, restorers, theorists and researchers from around the world except Slovenia, including PhD students, early-career researchers and postdoctoral researchers connected to UL ALUO fields. Applications may come from individuals or groups of up to four people. Selection considers a complete timely application, project proposal, originality and applicant references, with preference for research-oriented projects connected to UL ALUO specialist fields and social, economic, technological or environmental contexts.
