UNAH is accepting 2026 applications for financial recognition tied to formal intellectual-property protection of university innovations with institutional co-ownership.

Eligible intellectual-property actions may receive L 35,000 for an invention patent application admitted for processing, L 25,000 for a utility-model application or eligible software registration, L 15,000 for an integrated-circuit protection registration, or L 7,000 for an eligible industrial-design registration. The recognition is granted per application or registration rather than per person and is subject to budget availability. Applications are accepted through 31 December 2026; applications received after 15 November may be paid in fiscal year 2027 depending on available budget.
Eligibility requirements
UNAH must be a co-owner of the protected asset. The responsible co-investigator must be an active UNAH employee or student. Only applications or registrations dated from 1 January through 31 December 2026 are considered. Ideas or prototypes without a formal protection process and innovations disclosed without prior protection are not eligible.
