A tuition fees discount may be granted to students enrolled at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) under the “Scholarship Students” category to pursue their undergraduate studies. This discount is determined in accordance with the university’s approved policies and regulations and aligned with the Federal Higher Education Institutions Governance Resolution. Meeting the scholarship eligibility criteria does not constitute an entitlement to, or guarantee of, a scholarship. Scholarships are awarded subject to the availability of allocated scholarship seats. The discount applies to the categories, effective from the academic year 2025/2026 and onwards:

• International students (enrolled from inside or outside the UAE).

• Children of UAEU faculty members and staff.

Note: These conditions apply to new students admitted from the academic year 2025/2026 onwards. Conditions and policies in place before this date remain applicable to students admitted earlier.

Eligibility Conditions:

• Achieving a minimum of (98%) in the General Secondary School Certificate (Grade 12) or its

Scholarship Continuation Conditions:

• Maintaining a cumulative GPA of no less than (3.8) throughout the study duration at UAEU.

• Registering for a minimum of (15) credit hours per regular semester.

• The student must not hold another scholarship.

• The duration of the scholarship must not exceed the normal semesters required for graduation according to the study plan of the academic program, unless otherwise stated.

• Any change in the academic program, major, or study load, including course withdrawal, may affect the continuation of the scholarship.

• The scholarship continues until graduation, provided the student complies with the mentioned conditions and terms.

• The university reserves the right to revoke the scholarship in case the student commits any academic or behavioral violations that breach the integrity code or university regulations.

Rules & Guidelines

General Rules

• A student may be awarded only one scholarship and cannot combine more than one scholarship.

• The scholarship covers tuition fees only.

• The scholarship covers minor programs if they are included in the approved college plan.

• The scholarship does not cover repeated courses.

• The duration of benefiting from the scholarship must not exceed the number of regular semesters required for graduation according to the academic program’s study plan.

• The academic performance of scholarship recipients is evaluated at the end of each semester, and this evaluation is a condition for the continuation of the scholarship.

• The scholarship applies from the time it is granted; it is not retroactive, and the student is not entitled to claim it for previous academic years.

• No financial refund may be obtained in exchange for the tuition discount.

• The student is required to sign the scholarship contract before benefiting from it, and signing the contract is considered acknowledgment of full compliance with the conditions.

• Students enrolled in the university who meet the conditions may apply for the scholarship within a period not exceeding one academic year from their high school graduation.

• The university reserves the right to amend or cancel the scholarship conditions with the approval of the University’s Board of Trustees, provided that the student is notified of any changes.

Cancellation, Appeals, and Reapplication

• The Scholarship Committee is authorized to upgrade a scholarship to a higher category if the student’s cumulative GPA improves during two consecutive academic semesters, based on a request submitted by the student and in accordance with the approved rules and criteria.

• The university may temporarily suspend or permanently cancel a scholarship in accordance with approved regulations and systems, if the student fails to meet the continuation conditions, including GPA and credit hour requirements, or commits any academic or behavioral violations.

• The scholarship is canceled if the student changes the college or the academic program; the student may submit a new application for a scholarship, which will be considered in accordance with the prevailing rules and criteria at that time.

• The student has the right to submit an appeal to the Scholarship Committee to reinstate the scholarship, provided they present evidence of an exceptional circumstance that affected their academic performance and meet the previous scholarship criteria. The relevant committee will review the appeal, and its decision is final. If the appeal is accepted, the scholarship will be reinstated starting from the next semester.

• The student may submit a new application for another scholarship in case of cancellation for any reason, subject to the evaluation of their academic performance and the approved criteria.

• The student must submit the appeal to the relevant committee within (30 days) from the date of the official cancellation notice. Appeals submitted after this period will not be considered unless documented reasons are provided and accepted by the committee, in accordance with the university’s approved policies.
