The third UNESCO–Al Fozan International Prize is accepting applications and nominations for young STEM scientists, educators and innovators, awarding five regional laureates USD 50,000 each.

The biennial prize recognizes significant contributions in STEM research and emerging technologies, STEM education and dissemination, creativity and innovation, or international/regional cooperation in STEM. Five laureates represent Africa, Arab States, Asia and the Pacific, Europe and North America, and Latin America and the Caribbean. Each laureate receives USD 50,000, a medal and a diploma. Candidates complete an online dossier, but a valid nomination from an eligible institution is mandatory.
Eligibility requirements
Candidates must be under 40 at the application deadline and have recognized achievements or contributions in eligible STEM areas. Applications and supporting documents must be in English or French. Self-nomination alone is not valid: nomination must come from an eligible government/national commission, UNESCO-partner NGO, UNESCO Chair, Category 2 institute/centre, international scientific union or qualifying university authority. Eligible nominating entities may nominate up to three candidates.
