UNFPA is accepting applications to its Global Internship Roster for 2026. Placements are matched to organizational needs and can involve development-focused work in UNFPA offices around the world. Eligibility covers first-degree students who have completed at least one academic year, postgraduate students, recent university graduates who can start within one year of graduation, and participants in eligible postgraduate professional trainee programmes. Applicants must demonstrate an interest in development, relevant language proficiency and the ability to work across cultures. UNFPA states that interns who are not financially supported by an outside party may receive a stipend based on the agreed place of work.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants must meet one of UNFPA's education routes: first-degree students with at least one completed academic year, postgraduate students, recent university graduates able to start within one year of graduation, or participants in an eligible postgraduate professional trainee programme. Applicants must show interest in development, proficiency in at least one UN working language and fluency in the official language used by the hiring office. Close relatives of UNFPA staff are not eligible.
