The University of Iceland is recruiting a full-time Assistant Professor in Drama Education to teach and research drama and drama pedagogy within teacher education.
Full job description
The position covers teaching drama both as a subject and as a pedagogical method for future preschool, primary and upper-secondary teachers and leisure-studies students; voice and expression teaching; supervision of student final projects; research in drama education; development of teaching and research practices within the School of Education; and participation in administration, strategy and development. The initial appointment is for five years with the possibility of permanent appointment under university rules.
Requirements & qualifications
Applicants must have completed a master's thesis in drama education with knowledge and experience meeting international standards for the Assistant Professor title, as confirmed by an evaluation committee, or hold a doctorate from a recognized university. A teaching licence, practical drama-teaching experience and knowledge of drama within the Icelandic school system are required. University teaching and research experience and international collaboration are advantages. Good Icelandic and English are required.
