Full job description
The role includes teaching mathematics to teacher-education students at undergraduate and graduate level, research in mathematics and mathematics education, supervision of student final projects, and participation in programme administration and development for mathematics teacher education. The university expects the successful candidate to start as soon as the relevant appointment committees have completed their work. The initial appointment is for five years with the possibility of permanent appointment under university rules.
Requirements & qualifications
Applicants need a PhD in mathematics. University-level mathematics teaching is desirable; knowledge of mathematics education or mathematics pedagogy is advantageous; experience teaching mathematics at primary and/or upper-secondary level is desirable; international collaboration is an advantage. Good Icelandic and English and strong collaboration skills are required.
