Overview

Erasmus+ travel and subsistence grants for University of Iceland students undertaking a traineeship or research placement in Europe beginning in spring 2027.

Complete grant details

Supported placements can normally last 2–12 months, with short-term mobility of 5–30 days also possible. Current grant rates are EUR 309–1,188 for travel, EUR 79 per day for the first 14 days and EUR 56 per day thereafter for short-term mobility, and EUR 700–756 per month for long-term mobility. Applications received before the stated deadline have priority; later applications may be considered only if funding remains.

Eligibility requirements

University of Iceland students may apply for eligible traineeships or research work at European universities, companies or institutes. Recent graduates may undertake a traineeship within six months of graduation only if the Erasmus+ grant application was submitted no later than two months before graduation. Applications should be submitted at least eight weeks before the planned start; applications less than six weeks before start are rejected.

Tips for this grant

Practical Job and Scholarship guidance. These tips do not replace official rules or create new eligibility requirements.

  1. Check eligibility, funding coverage, study/project level and every required document before investing time in the application.
  2. Prepare transcripts, references, language tests, proposal/motivation statement and proof documents early.
  3. Separate the scholarship deadline from any university/program admission deadline; they may be different.
  4. Treat “fully funded” as a source fact only when the official provider explicitly confirms the covered costs.

Verification notes

Verified against the current official University of Iceland traineeship page. It states 15 November 2026 for stays starting in spring 2027 but no closing clock time.
