The University of Tartu Asia Centre is accepting 2026/27 scholarship applications for Asia- or Middle East-focused student research, with a €2,000 award available once a year in each of the university’s four faculties.

The scholarship supports University of Tartu work focused on Asia and/or the Middle East, including qualifying collaboration with research organisations in Asia. Students in Humanities and Arts, Social Sciences, or Science and Technology may apply with a master’s thesis submitted for defence. Faculty of Medicine applicants may apply with a PhD plan, full dissertation, internship-abroad plan, or qualifying dentistry/pharmacology research work. The current deadline is 3 June 2027.

Applicants must be University of Tartu students whose qualifying thesis, research, dissertation plan or relevant medical-faculty activity fits the Asia/Middle East focus and the faculty-specific submission rules on the official page. Documentation differs by faculty.
