The Institute of Genomics is recruiting one research fellow to work within the Centre of Excellence for Personalised Medicine. Research will examine genetic variation, population structure, phenotype and disease risk using large-scale genomic resources from the Estonian Biobank, including PacBio long-read whole-genome sequencing data from 10,000 individuals. The role also includes developing population and statistical genetics methods, preparing scientific publications and contributing to student supervision. The contract is planned from 1 December 2026 through 31 December 2030 at full-time workload in Tartu.
Eligibility requirements
Applicants need a PhD in population genetics, human genetics, genomics, bioinformatics or a related field; international-level research experience in population genetics, human genomics or a related area; and experience analysing large-scale genomic data. Experience with long-read sequencing data is an advantage. Good command of English is required.
