The University of Cape Town is offering a limited number of 2027 University Research Committee Postdoctoral Research Fellowships for excellent doctoral graduates across all academic disciplines.

The fellowship provides ZAR 350,000 per year for two years, subject to satisfactory six-monthly progress reports. It is intended to help early-career researchers build research portfolios, gain teaching and supervision experience, strengthen professional competencies and join scholarly networks. The award carries no relocation or additional benefits.
Eligibility requirements
South African and international candidates may apply. Applicants must have been awarded their PhD no earlier than June 2023 and must not hold a full-time permanent comprehensive academic or research post. There is no discipline restriction.
