The successful candidate will work independently with internal teams, suppliers, and program stakeholders to ensure requirements are complete, testable, traceable, and aligned with customer and product objectives.

Develop, review, clarify, and maintain User Terminal requirements, PRDs, interfaces, and supporting system documentation. Perform requirements updates, decomposition, allocation, traceability, and compliance analysis across terminal hardware, modems, software, and integrated solutions. Develop requirements-to-test mappings, verification methods, compliance matrices, and objective-evidence links. Write CONOPS and requirements for fixed, mobility, and maritime applications. Participate in requirements reviews, design reviews, architecture discussions, workshops, and supplier meetings. Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical discipline. 9 to 14 years of relevant engineering experience in systems engineering, satellite communications, telecommunications, aerospace, networking, or a related field. Experience supporting complex multidisciplinary product-development activities across requirements, design, integration, verification, and delivery.

Strong knowledge of systems engineering, requirements allocation, traceability, verification, and compliance management. Knowledge of low earth orbit (LEO) satellite communications and User Terminal subsystems, including antennas, RF equipment, modems, waveform processing, networking, and software. Ability to convert customer, contractual, operational, and technical needs into clear, testable requirements. Experience with Jama, DOORS, Capella, Jira, Confluence, or equivalent tools. Strong analytical, technical writing, presentation, and meeting-facilitation skills.

Works independently on complex assignments with limited supervision. Makes technical recommendations related to requirements quality, traceability, verification, compliance, and issue resolution. Escalates decisions with significant architectural, contractual, cost, or schedule impacts. May lead focused work packages or reviews and guide less experienced engineers; normally has no direct supervisory responsibility.

Hybrid office environment based in Ottawa, with regular virtual and in-person engineering meetings. Work may include activities in laboratories, integration facilities, customer sites, and supplier facilities. Occasional domestic and international travel may be required for workshops, reviews, integration, demonstrations, and customer or supplier engagements. Occasional schedule flexibility may be required to support tests or collaborate across time zones.
